About Zwe

Hey, I’m Zwe (Zwe Zay Yan Zaw), the cook behind Let Zwe Cook. I’m a Burmese chef, and I make videos and recipes about the food I grew up with.

I spent 2022 to 2026 in Bangkok studying Culinary Arts & Design at Bangkok University International, which is where I learned to cook properly and to think about food as something you design, not just make.

Now I cook from Phnom Penh. Being away from Myanmar is what started Homesick Meals, my series of the Burmese dishes I miss most: rainy-season chicken soup, Water Festival sticky rice balls, the beef curry you mix straight into rice.

To me, food is how I say things I cannot put into words. Burmese food doesn’t get much space online yet, so I’m trying to give it some, one dish at a time.
